Chatuchak Weekend Market

well.... chatuchak weekend market is probably the must go in bangkok, that's what many people say. well.... yeah one thing, it's huge. and it probably sells everything. the thing is, finding the specific thing you're looking for. so that's when it gets kinda irritating. besides, it really is open on weekends only, (read- chatuchak weekend market), and it may get kinda crowded sometimes. factor in the heat and the stuffiness, and it really isn't a very ideal shopping experience after all.

but, but but but

it is interesting. once you are immersed in the shopping experience, you wouldn't really be bothered by the heat. however, pickpocketing is a very real danger. good thing is, the toilets are no longer as smelly as before, they have cleaned it up pretty well. and the sheer amount of things on display would just enthrall you and sustain your interest through the weekend. just remember to bring along a damn comfortable pair of walking shoes and maybe a cap. sunblock even. the weather is really quite horrible. do drink lots of water. this isn't much of a problem though, there are many drink vendors around that sell bottles of mineral water for 10 baht each, which equates to around S$0.50.

ok, on to pictures!

look at the number of cars... an indication of how many people visit the weekend market. and these are just the locals! still got tourists somemore sia.

chatuchak market from within the skytrain... just part of it. it's freaking huge, you cannot cover it in a day.

along the way, i saw this girl selling these really poor puppies. quite cute. i guess it's 500 baht each, which translates to about S$20+. cheap?? i don't know...

the chatuchak weekend market assaults your senses with its various sights, smells and sounds. the colour, the odours and fragrances, the haggling of prices and the noises from the pet area....

wah my descriptive is not really good actually. must work on my vocab haha.

and yes, there is a pet section.

dog toys... wanted to buy for edwin, then i figured out he wouldn't really be able to work out how to play with them. so i decided not to waste money.

haha just kidding, just KIDDING. but i really am that mean.

refreshing frozen SYRUP...... my gosh.

i'm so sorry, i have zilch photo editing skills, so i can't put these into a collage or something. i know it may take some time to load these pics....... :-S

Chatuchak weekend market is located near Mo Chit station on the BTS. it is only open on weekends.

haha as if any of you would be going.

anyways,

in con con con conclusion, chatuchak is quite a nice place to go to, has many interesting stuff and you never know when you may chance upon anything unique. if you are interested in anything, just haggle for the best price and buy it. cos you never know if you can find the stall again. but please bargain. hoohoo. fun fun.
